Algivon Plus Ribbon 2.5 x 20cm honey alginate tamponade
lgivon Plus Ribbon - 100% Manuka honey
Activon Plus Ribbon is a wound dressing impregnated with 100% medical Manuka honey, which is processed as a tamponade strip.
It ensures a moist wound environment and effectively eliminates wound odors, because
The alginate fibers allow a slow and continuous release of honey, thus maintaining the integrity of the wound dressing.
Algivon Plus Ribbon is ideal for moist wounds because the alginate has limited absorption capacity and the honey is not washed out with the wound secretion, so the honey stays in the wound longer and can develop its healing effect.
The tamponade is very soft and malleable and can therefore be easily inserted into wound cavities and deep wounds and, thanks to the stable matrix, can also be removed in one piece.
Instructions for use:
- Clean the wound thoroughly.
- Dry surrounding tissue.
- Ensure that the sterile pad is unopened and undamaged before use.
- Place the tamponade into a wound cavity or deep wound.
- If necessary, the tamponade can be cut to size with sharp scissors.
- Cover the wound with a suitable secondary dressing. This can be Advazorb foam or Eclypse superabsorbent, depending on the degree of exudate.
- Store Algivon Plus Ribbon at room temperature.
Changing the dressing:
Depending on the clinical findings, the tamponade can remain in the wound for up to 7 days. Due to the nature of honey, the dressing may become firmer in cold temperatures and softer in warmer temperatures. If the product is very firm, warm it between your hands before use to soften it. If the product has become too soft, place it in a cooler place, such as the refrigerator, for a few minutes.
Notes:
Algivon Plus Ribbon can be used for many wounds, but especially for the following:
- Wounds with cavities
- decubitus
- Venous and arterial wounds
- surgical wounds
- Skin donor sites
- infected wounds
