Description: AQUACEL® Ag+ Tamponade is an antimicrobial primary dressing specifically developed for the treatment of infected or at-risk deep wounds, wound cavities, and fistulas. It combines proven Hydrofiber® technology with Ag+ technology, a unique silver ion-containing formulation that effectively combats biofilms.

Characteristics:

• Antimicrobial action: Fights a broad spectrum of microorganisms, including antibiotic-resistant germs.

• Biofilm management: Ag+ technology helps break down biofilms and prevent their re-formation.
  

• High absorption capacity: Hydrofiber® technology enables effective absorption of exudate and supports a moist wound environment.
  

• Reinforced structure: Consists of two sewn Hydrofiber® layers, which makes the dressing more tear-resistant and absorbent.
  

Areas of application: Suitable for the treatment of acute and chronic, moderately to heavily exuding wounds that have biofilm, are infected or at risk of infection, especially for:

• Diabetic foot ulcers

• Leg ulcers (venous, arterial or mixed)

• decubitus
  

• Surgical wounds

• Traumatic wounds

• Malignant wounds

• Second-degree burns

• Wound cavities and deep wounds, including undermined wounds, fistulas and wound pockets

Instructions for use:

• Clean the wound according to standard procedures.

• Cut the AQUACEL® Ag+ tamponade to the appropriate size if necessary.

• Fill the wound cavity to a maximum of 80%, as the dressing will expand upon contact with exudate.

• Place the tamponade directly into the wound and secure it with a suitable secondary dressing.

• The recommended wearing time is up to 7 days, depending on the degree of exudation and the clinical condition of the wound.

Notes:

• Do not use on persons with known sensitivity to silver or other components of the dressing.

• Intended for single use; do not reuse.
